To Curse Another…

dav

To curse another person is to curse yourself.

Oh boy, am I’m feeling this Knight today! He’s not my birthday courtier for nothing (third decan Capricorn). One of the things that flitted past in my FB feed this morning really rubbed me the wrong way. The Tarot is a sacred tool for personal and spiritual development and it can be used for magic when it is for the Highest Good.

However, the offending post contained a suggestion to use The Tower as a curse to bring another person down. I was not OK with that so I alerted admin of the group and thankfully they were on board enough to at least caution the person who posted and ask them to rephrase their post.

Then the inevitable happened. Someone got in an ego huff over it and wrote: “Oh for crying out loud, it’s not a harmful post, it’s just information. The world is not all love and light.”

To which I replied: “Sharing information about how to make bombs isn’t harmful either from that perspective. No, the world is not all love and light and that is why using the Tarot FOR the Light is our responsibility.”

I want to share two more quotes that I feel are a most excellent fit for the Knight of Swords:

“Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”
― Robert F. Kennedy

and

“In keeping silent about evil, in burying it so deep within us that no sign of it appears on the surface, we are implanting it, and it will rise up a thousand fold in the future. When we neither punish nor reproach evildoers, we are not simply protecting their trivial old age, we are thereby ripping the foundations of justice from beneath new generations.”
― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn

Today’s draw is from the Everyday Witch Tarot. (UK Amazon affiliate link).

For me, there is always a better way to deal with an issue than by cursing someone else. Yes, it’s normal to get pissed off. Yet, what kind of energy do you want to send out into the world? Stop, take a breath, and think of a better way to solve things 🙂

I agree that energy needs to be transmuted before it is sent out in the world where anger is concerned. But sometimes anger at injustice is needed to get the job done. For me, that’s the kind of anger that often motivates the Knight of Swords. Sometimes he is misinformed and sometimes he does forget to transmute the anger before he takes action… All Courtiers have their flaws. All feelings are valid – It’s how we channel them that matters.
